Latest News

The E-Club Board has made the decision to cancel our regularly scheduled luncheons for the remainder of the 2020-2021 Club-year (through May 2021). With the current infection rate of the COVID-19 virus and the time projected to make significant progress on the vaccination program, the board’s consensus is that it is not an appropriate time to be holding our monthly luncheons. We will be monitoring the situation over the summer and hope to resume with our monthly luncheons in September 2021.

We continue to wish you all well as we all deal with these difficult and unusual times.

Thank you for your continued support of E-Club!

Engineers Club Board of Directors

As you are aware, the E-Club Board made the difficult decision to cancel our annual Shrimp Bingo Fundraiser planned for February 5, 2021.  We considered postponing the event to later in the year or hosting a virtual Bingo event.  Based on the current state of the pandemic situation and projections for possible impacts continuing well into 2021, postponing the event to later in the year was determined to be impractical and not a viable option.  A virtual event was investigated, but would be completely out of character with the in-person social nature of Shrimp Bingo and was also considered not to be a viable alternative.  As such, the Board made the decision not to schedule any alternative Shrimp Bingo events for 2021, but focus on planning for the 2022 event.

Annually, the Engineers Club of Kansas City has been able to provide scholarships to local students in ABET accredited programs.  In 2020 we were able to grant scholarships totally $66,500.  With the cancellation of the 2021 Shrimp Bingo event, our primary source of revenue for our Student Assistance Fund is eliminated for the year.  Undergraduate engineering financial assistance is needed now more than ever.

In the absence of Shrimp Bingo in 2021, we hope everyone that planned on attending or sponsoring this year’s event will consider continuing their generosity with a donation to our scholarship fund.  Donation checks can be mailed to our Shrimp Bingo Coordinator, Melissa Prenger at the following address:

Melissa Prenger

City of Prairie Village

3535 Somerset Dr.

Prairie Village, KS  66208

Please make checks payable to: Engineers Club of Kansas City

Please feel free to contact any of the Board of Directors for additional information or any questions.

We appreciate your past support of Shrimp Bingo and we look forward to reciting the oath together again in 2022.

President’s Message

For over 100 years the Engineer’s Club of Kansas City has provided fellowship for engineers and a vehicle to perpetuate our profession through engineering scholarships to area students. The importance of our mission is evident by the many companies and individuals that participate in our ECKC scholarship fundraisers.  Please join us to support the engineering profession.

Our Student Assistance Fund supports undergraduate students from the KC metro area that are pursuing an ABET accredited engineering degree.  This past year we distributed $46,250 in scholarships to 45 students. The premier fundraising events of ECKC have been Shrimp Bingo, Fall Golf Outing and our Spring Golf Outing.  N.

The Club also holds a monthly luncheon for networking, professional development and fellowship.  The luncheon offers 0.5 PDH for presentations on a variety of topics of interest to the engineering community.  Please check this website (eclubofkc.org) for updates, or if you would like to be added to our email list, send your request to engineersclubofkc@gmail.com.  Specifics of our monthly luncheons are below.

Please consider getting involved in ECKC.  Opportunities include fundraising events, monthly luncheons, mentoring events, committee activities, or the ability to directly donate funds to the 501(c)(3) Student Assistance Fund.  Join or renew ECKC membership online using the Membership page on our website. New members are always welcome and at just $40 per year, it’s a great value for a great cause!

Your support of Engineer’s Club of Kansas City promotes our mission: to perpetuate the engineering profession by inspiring and assisting the next generation.

Feel free to reach out to any of our Board members if you have any questions about the Club or want to become an active member in our great organization.
